- Collaboratively work on projects with other video editors, designers, animators and program managers
- Developing shot lists and storyboards for video production and animation
- Editing live action video footage with appropriate with timing and pacing, in order to tell a compelling story - with minimal direction or guidance
- Recording voice overs for narration where necessary (not common) and color correcting videos
- Presenting edited videos for review and editing based on feedback in a timely manner
- Creating motion graphics (i.e. titles, transitions and lower thirds) for videos where applicable
- Delivering edited videos in a consistent and timely manner, ensuring quality while always meeting deadlines
- Producing or sourcing sound effects and background music where appropriate
- 4+ years experience working professionally as a Video Editor
- An online portfolio that showcases strong video editing work
- Experience editing live-action video footage
- Ability to positively receive and incorporate feedback in a timely manner
- Proficiency in Adobe CS (i.e. Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder)
- Understanding of video encoding formats and knowledge of video editing principles
- Understanding of audio best practices in music, sound effects and narration
- Ability to work with animators on the team for more detailed/advanced motion graphics
- Excellent project management skills; ability to independently guide workload and prioritization
- Strong communication skills, resourceful, self-motivated, and adaptable
- Comfortable using Mac OSX and Google suite
- Basic animation skills with the ability to create motion graphics, and color correction skills
- Solid creative problem solving skills with ability to identify solutions that work for multiple stakeholders
- Ability to build in efficiency into video editing processes and workflows
- Proficiency in Camtasia and ability to record and edit screencasts for instructional tutorials
- Understanding of design principles, basic graphic design and ability to use design tools like Illustrator and Figma
This full time role offers a salary range of $85,000 - $98,000, depending on experience level.
